Porting FAQ
Keith's top 5.
Keith Madden, Director of Carrier Services
What documents are required to port?
Signed contract, LOA, RespOrg (for toll-free), 911 address info, and BTN status. We'll tell you if any are missing before submission.
How long does porting take?
Simple ports run 7–10 days. Complex ports (15+ numbers or carrier disputes) run 10–14 days.
What's a Firm Order Commitment date?
The FOC is the date the losing carrier agrees to release your numbers. Once set, cancellations within 48 hours incur a \$100 fee.
My port was rejected — what now?
Most rejections are data accuracy issues. We work with you and the losing carrier to resolve.
Can I port just some of my numbers?
Yes — partial ports are supported with BTN management to avoid disrupting your main line.
